the UN in KL

This past weekend my friends and I went to Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia. On two different occasions, two taxi drivers asked where we were from and were surprised that we were from all around the world. My friends included an American (Molly), a Korean (Grace), a Swede (Ted), and a Norwegian (Troy).

Trip Summary:
–  Batu Caves: Several Hindu shrines up a fleet of 270 steps and inside the cave. There were also many monkeys with tourists and devotees giving them coconuts and bananas to eat.
Amusement park in Times Square Mall: It’s no Canada’s Wonderland or anything but no line ups meant no wait!
Putrajaya: Masjid Putra and home of Prime Minister’s office, and residence
Planetarium and surrounding gardens: some beautiful scenery but it was very hot outside…
Petaling Street: knock offs of everything! From Burberry to Louis Vuitton
Petronas Towers and Menara Observation Tower: They don’t look that tall close up but they are pretty spectacular to see at night.

I didn’t try anything new in Malaysia. My friends and I were craving pizza and saw a Papa John’s so we ended up eating there! The pizza itself was something different too with shrimp and peas.

Ranji, these pictures look amazing! The cave is incredible. Also, when you come back fluent in mandarin and everything let’s have a legit convo.

Hi Son – Did you have the peas on the pizza? you never ate peas at home. You would line them around your plate. The book you wrote if you were king for a day you would give Priya your peas to eat.
